What should I consider when looking for a career counselor?

• Consider someone with at least a master's degree in counseling, or other mental health profession;
• Look for someone with experience in career/work counseling including expertise with testing and assessment;
• Other factors such as professional memberships in career counseling fields (American Counseling Association; National Career Development Association, etc.) can be useful;
• Licensure is not required, but is helpful;
• Personal experience doing their own work (self-examination, reflection, etc.) regarding their own career and work relationship is essential;
• Consider someone with whom you "click"—feel comfortable relating to, and respect their experience and knowledge in the field.

Dr. Trammell sees clients in the Hillsboro/West-End neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee--conveniently located near I-440.  Specific directions will be given to you when you make your appointment.
